  • You're liable for all activity on your account unless you report compromise promptly

3. Acceptable Use Policy

We want Postle.io to be a positive tool for everyone. You agree not to use our service to:

  • Terminate your account immediately
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Seek legal remedies for damages

4. Platform-Specific Terms

When you connect social media accounts, you agree to comply with each platform's terms of service:

Platform Limitations

Important: We cannot guarantee:

  • Compatibility with future platform API changes (social networks frequently update their APIs)
  • Post success if platforms block or restrict API access (e.g., rate limits, account suspensions)
  • Recovery if platforms delete your content due to policy violations
  • Continuation of features if platforms restrict third-party access

If a platform suspends or bans your account for policy violations, it's beyond our control. We are not liable for platform enforcement actions.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

Your Content

You own your content. When you upload posts, images, videos, or other materials to Postle.io, you retain full ownership.

By using our service, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store your content on our servers
  • Process and optimize media (resize images, transcode videos) for platform requirements
  • Publish content to social platforms on your behalf at scheduled times
  • Display your content in the app (calendar view, post previews, etc.)
  • Create anonymized examples for marketing (with explicit permission only)

This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Our Intellectual Property

Postle.io and all its features, design, code, logos, and trademarks are owned by us. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our code or design
  • Use our name, logo, or branding without written permission
  • Claim our features or innovations as your own
  • Build competing products based on our service or documentation

Third-Party Content

We use third-party services (icons, fonts, libraries) licensed under open-source or commercial terms. These remain property of their respective owners.

6. Payment Terms

Postle.io offers the following plans:

  • Free Plan: $0/month (limited features and usage)
  • Starter Plan: $29/month (more accounts, posts, and AI credits)

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
  • Payment method: Credit/debit card via Stripe (we don't store card details)
  • Billing date: Charged on the same day each month/year

  • How to cancel: Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription

  • Access: You retain access until the period ends
  • Refunds: No refunds for partial months (you've already used the service)

Price Changes

We believe in fair pricing and won't surprise you with sudden increases. If we need to adjust prices:

  • Notice: At least 30 days advance email notification
  • Grandfathering: Existing customers keep current price for at least 12 months
  • Option to cancel: Cancel before the increase takes effect (no penalty)

Taxes

Prices don't include taxes. You're responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, or other taxes based on your location. We'll add these to your invoice where required by law.

7. Service Availability and Uptime

Uptime Goal

We aim for 99.9% uptime, but we don't provide an uptime guarantee (SLA). In practice, this means:

  • Expected availability: ~43 minutes of downtime per month (scheduled + unscheduled)
  • Monitoring: We monitor the service 24/7 and respond to incidents quickly

Scheduled Maintenance

  • Notice: At least 48 hours advance notification via email and status page
  • Timing: Usually during low-traffic hours (late night US time)
  • Duration: Typically 15-30 minutes
  • Post scheduling: Scheduled posts continue to process during maintenance when possible

Unplanned Outages

If the service goes down unexpectedly, we will:

  • Post updates on our status page
  • Send notifications if downtime exceeds 15 minutes
  • Retry failed scheduled posts automatically (up to 3 times)
  • Notify you of any posts that couldn't be published

Platform API Outages

Important limitation: We rely on social media platform APIs (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). If those platforms experience outages or restrict API access, we cannot publish posts to them. This is beyond our control and not covered by any uptime commitment.

8. Limitation of Liability

Service "As Is"

Postle.io is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Guarantees of uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free operation
  • Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content or analytics

What We're Not Liable For

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Missed posts: If scheduled posts don't publish due to platform issues, API changes, or connectivity problems
  • Platform suspensions: If social platforms suspend or ban your account
  • Data loss: Loss of content due to platform changes, user error, or technical issues (backup your important content!)
  • Business losses: Lost revenue, customers, or opportunities due to service outages
  • Third-party services: Failures or issues with Supabase, Stripe, OpenAI, or social platforms
  • Content issues: Copyright claims, defamation, or other legal issues from your posted content
  • Security breaches: If you share your password or fail to secure your account

Maximum Liability

If we are found liable for any damages, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the incident, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indirect Damages

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including:

  • Lost profits or revenue
  • Loss of data or business opportunities
  • Reputational harm
  • Cost of substitute services

Your Responsibility

You agree to use Postle.io responsibly and acknowledge that we're a tool to help you manage social media—not a guarantee of success or engagement. Results depend on your content, audience, and platform algorithms (which we don't control).

9. Termination

Your Right to Terminate

You can cancel your account at any time:

  • How: Settings → Privacy → Delete Account
  • Effect: Immediate deactivation, 30-day data retention (in case you change your mind)
  • Refunds: No refunds for remaining subscription time (you keep access until period ends if you just cancel subscription)

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • You fail to pay subscription fees
  • You engage in fraudulent activity or chargebacks
  • We're required to by law or platform partners
  • We discontinue the service (with 60 days notice)

Effect of Termination

When your account is terminated (by you or us):

  • You immediately lose access to the service
  • Scheduled posts will not publish
  • Data is retained for 30 days (soft delete), then permanently deleted
  • Billing stops immediately (no refunds for partial periods)
  • You may not create a new account without our permission (if we terminated for violations)

Data Export Before Termination

Before deleting your account, we strongly recommend exporting your data:

  • Settings → Privacy → Export My Data (JSON format)
  • Includes all posts, analytics, and account information
  • Available immediately after export request

10. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@postle.io to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We'll do our best to work things out.

Give us 30 days to respond and attempt resolution. Most issues can be solved with a simple conversation.

Jurisdiction

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Finland.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Here's how we handle changes:

Notification

  • Minor changes: Updated "Last updated" date and website notice
  • Material changes: Email notification to all users at least 30 days before effective date

Your Options

  • Accept: Continue using the service (constitutes acceptance)
  • Reject: Cancel your account before changes take effect (no penalty)

Version History

All previous versions of these Terms are available on our GitHub repository for transparency.

12. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Postle.io regarding use of the service.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision doesn't constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign our rights to any successor or acquirer of our business.

Force Majeure

We're not liable for failures or delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, pandemics, internet outages, platform API shutdowns, etc.).

Survival

Provisions that should naturally survive termination (payment obligations, intellectual property rights, limitation of liability, etc.) continue to apply after your account is closed.
