Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Postle.io in just 5 minutes. Follow these simple steps to start scheduling your social media content.
What you'll learn
This guide will walk you through creating your account, connecting your first social media platform, and scheduling your first post. By the end, you'll have everything you need to start managing your social media presence.
Create Your Account
Start by creating your free Postle.io account. You'll get access to all features with no credit card required.
To create your account:
- Visit the signup page
- Enter your email address and create a secure password
- Verify your email by clicking the link we send you
- Complete your profile with your name and business information
Choose a password that's at least 8 characters long and includes a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for better security.
Connect Your First Platform
Connect your social media accounts to start scheduling posts. Postle supports Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
To connect a platform:
- Go to the Accounts page in your dashboard
- Click "Connect Account" on the platform you want to add
- Log in to your social media account when prompted
- Grant Postle the necessary permissions to post on your behalf
- Select which pages or profiles you want to connect (if applicable)
About Permissions
Postle only requests the minimum permissions needed to schedule and publish posts. We never access your private messages or personal data beyond what's necessary for posting.
Start with one or two platforms to get familiar with the process, then add more as you get comfortable. You can always connect additional accounts later.
Create Your First Post
Now you're ready to create your first social media post. The composer makes it easy to write content, add media, and target multiple platforms at once.
To create a post:
- Click the "New Post" button in your dashboard or calendar
- Write your post content in the text editor
- Add images or videos if you'd like (optional)
- Select which platforms you want to post to
- Review platform-specific previews to see how your post will look
Character Limits
Each platform has different character limits. Postle automatically shows you the remaining characters for each selected platform and warns you if you exceed the limit.
Common Character Limits:
- • X: 280 characters
- • Instagram: 2,200 characters (first 125 visible without expanding)
- • Facebook: 63,206 characters (though shorter is better)
- • LinkedIn: 3,000 characters
- • TikTok: 2,200 characters
Schedule & Publish
You can publish your post immediately or schedule it for later. Scheduling lets you plan your content in advance and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
Publishing options:
- Publish Now: Your post will be sent to your selected platforms immediately
- Schedule for Later: Choose a specific date and time, and Postle will automatically publish your post
Understanding Post Status
After creating a post, you can track its status in the calendar:
- • Scheduled: Waiting to be published at the scheduled time
- • Publishing: Currently being sent to platforms
- • Published: Successfully posted to all platforms
- • Failed: There was an issue posting to one or more platforms
Optimal Posting Times
Postle can suggest optimal posting times based on when your audience is most active. Look for the "Suggest Times" feature in the schedule picker.
