Connect Your Facebook Pages

Connect your Facebook Business Pages to schedule and publish posts directly from Postle.

Overview

The Facebook Pages integration allows you to manage and publish content to your Facebook Business Pages. With this integration, you can schedule posts, track engagement, and manage multiple Pages from one central dashboard.

What You Can Do

  • Publish text posts with images and links
  • Schedule content in advance
  • Track post performance and engagement
  • Manage multiple Facebook Pages from one place

Requirements

  • A Facebook Business Page (not a personal profile)
  • Admin access to the Page you want to connect
  • A Postle account Sign up here

Getting Started

Step 1: Prepare Your Facebook Page

Make sure you have a Facebook Business Page created and that you have admin access to it. If you don't have a Page yet:

  1. Go to facebook.com/pages/create
  2. Choose a Page type and category
  3. Fill in your Page details
  4. Complete the setup process

Step 2: Connect in Postle

In your Postle dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Accounts
  2. Find the Facebook Pages card
  3. Click the "Connect Facebook Pages" button

Step 3: Authorize the Postle App

You'll be redirected to Facebook to authorize Postle. This allows Postle to post on your behalf.

  1. Log in to Facebook if prompted
  2. Review the permissions Postle is requesting
  3. Click "Continue" or "Allow" to grant permissions

Permissions Explained

Postle requests the following permissions:

  • View your Pages: To see which Pages you manage
  • Publish content: To create posts on your behalf
  • Read engagement: To show you analytics and insights

Step 4: Select Pages to Connect

Facebook will show you all Pages you manage. Select the Pages you want to connect to Postle:

  1. Check the boxes next to the Pages you want to connect
  2. Click "Next" or "Done"
You can connect multiple Facebook Pages in one go. You can always connect more later by repeating this process.

Step 5: Verify Connection

After authorizing, you'll be redirected back to Postle. Your connected Facebook Pages should now appear in your Accounts page.

  1. Check that your Page(s) appear with a "Connected" status
  2. Verify the Page name and profile picture are correct
  3. You're ready to start scheduling posts!

Publishing to Facebook

Supported Content Types

  • Text posts: Share updates, announcements, and thoughts
  • Image posts: Add images to your posts (JPG, PNG formats)
  • Link posts: Share links with automatic preview generation

Character Limits

Facebook doesn't enforce a strict character limit for post content, but for optimal engagement, we recommend:

  • Ideal length: 40-80 characters (shows fully in feed)
  • Maximum recommended: 500 characters (before "See More" appears)
  • Absolute maximum: 63,206 characters (but not recommended)

Best Practices for Facebook Posts

  • Keep posts concise and engaging to maximize reach
  • Use high-quality images (recommended: 1200×630 pixels)
  • Ask questions to encourage comments and engagement
  • Post during peak times (typically 9am-3pm on weekdays)
  • Use emojis sparingly to add personality without overwhelming

Analytics & Insights

Available Metrics

Postle tracks the following metrics for your Facebook posts:

  • Reach: Number of unique people who saw your post
  • Engagement: Total likes, comments, shares, and clicks
  • Views: Number of times your Page or post was viewed (replaces the deprecated "Impressions" metric)
  • Clicks: Number of clicks on your post content

Note about Facebook API Changes (Nov 2025)

Facebook deprecated the "Impressions" metric in November 2025. Postle now uses Facebook's "Views" metric for page-level data. For post-level metrics where Views isn't available, we estimate impressions based on engagement data to provide the best possible analytics.

How Often Data Updates

Analytics data is refreshed automatically every 6 hours. You can expect to see:

  • Real-time publishing status updates
  • Initial analytics within 1-2 hours of publishing
  • Full insights data within 24-48 hours
Facebook analytics data has a delay of 24-48 hours for some advanced metrics. The data you see in Postle reflects what's available from Facebook's API.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If you're having trouble connecting your Facebook Page:

  • Make sure you have admin access to the Page
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting your account
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Ensure pop-ups are not blocked

Token Expiration

Facebook access tokens typically last 60 days. Postle automatically refreshes them, but if you see a "Token expired" error:

  1. Go to your Accounts page
  2. Find the affected Facebook Page
  3. Click "Reconnect" to refresh the connection

Permission Errors

If posts fail with "Permission denied" errors:

  • Check that you still have admin access to the Page
  • Verify the Page hasn't been deleted or unpublished
  • Reconnect your account to grant permissions again
